Scorecard
|
The scorecard will show you the distance from the next green, remembers the number of shots, the irons and the beginning and end of the tee. It will also calculate the handicap for each course calculates the results of the game based on holes and count games or Stableford and sends your scorecard out via e-mail. After you access the scorecard, you should first perform synchronization so that you can download any existing courses. Next, check whether the course where you are planning to play is already included in our database. Use the Open Course command to search for courses by entering the name (important: most names begin with golf course, golf club, etc.), zip code or by doing a proximity/region search. If your course is not in our database, please follow the instructions and add the course yourself. Once you have opened your golf course, please choose the command New Round. The star will show you the round you have just opened. You can also continue to play an old round or review an old round. Add players next and start your round. Please enter the Tee from which the player is teeing off in this round. If you choose players who have been entered earlier, you can edit the data, such as their handicap or the tee, from which you are teeing off. IMPORTANT: If you want to record the start and end points of your shots, you will have to stand right next to your ball each time you record a shot. In the uppermost line you will see the golf course name, the hole number and the par of the hole. The color of the buttons indicates how accurate the GPS signal is. Yellow indicates good precision, red on the right signals that the reception in a building is not good. Green shows the highest level of accuracy. This screenshot was taken on the yellow Tee of Hole 1 in Mennhausen, Germany. Screenshot 1 was taken on the yellow Tee and screenshot 3 on the blue Tee. The respective photos show the accuracy of the scorecard: 6 meters of deviation if the GPS reception is good, 2 meters of deviation if the GPS reception of optimal, Q (?) Up to 4 players are shown in the upper third of the display; the name of the current player is indicated. The Select Club command allows you to choose the club you are going to play with. Please make your selection prior to the shot. Please observe the following rule: The deciding factor for the entry of the shots is always the tee-off location! Start with the entry on the Tee, choose the club prior to making your shot and press the Tee-button next. If the button is lying on e.g. the fairway after your shot, walk up to the ball, choose the club you are going to use next and press "Fairway". The exception from the rule is your entry of the ball position after the last put. Simply press "Finish" if you want to save this position (hole). If you need to get an overview of the hole, you can always pull up a satellite view of the hole – the small button Map in the bottom center will help you make that choice. It will also show you all shots you have made so far along with the clubs you have used. To review your game statistics and flight information, simply press the Statistics button and scroll up and down to switch between users. To view the scorecard in the familiar horizontal position, simply turn your iPhone into the horizontal view. Blue shows a part, red a birdie. The bottom number indicates how much below part you currently are. Prev and Next on the bottom right and left (or the familiar Swipe move) will take you to the other holes (previous or next holes). If your course is not already in the database of your scorecard, you can add it yourself. There are two ways to do that:
In both cases, touch field Add New Course and first enter the name and address of the course. Next, go to Set Data. Under label, please add the color of the tee-off location you would like to enter. We have entered two each colors for men and women as defaults, which can be selected by pressing the buttons in the upper right corner of the screen. However, if you would like to tee-off from a blue Tee, you will have to enter Blue under the label. For the correct calculation of your handicap, you will have to enter the respective course and the respective tee values for the course and slope rating. Continue to Hole Data. In this view, you should enter the par for each hole and the handicap of the hole. You do not have to enter the distance, given that the distance will be calculated via GPS; however, you do have the option to enter it. Finally, you will have to enter the coordinates of the green. Press on Locations, choose Center of Green and type in Add New Location. If you can now see a correct satellite image of your course on the screen, push the cross marking to the center of the green and touch the flag symbol on the bottom right. Push button Done to finish your entries. If you do not see a correct satellite image, you will have to go to the center of the green and press down the bottom center positioning marker. Wait a moment after doing that and next press the flag icon and subsequently Done on the top right. Stay on the green and check the accuracy by going to Open Course, where you will have to select the course you have just entered and verify the distance at Hole 1 – as a rule, the value displayed should be 1 meter. If this is the case, you have adequate GPS reception. Note: You can also enter other points, such as water or banker; however, these will be displayed only as of your next update. |
